CCMHA 3 on 3

3 on 3 February 26, 2014 CCMHA's successful 3 on3 program has returned for another year. We are offering 10 one hour games at $100 which includes a jersey. If you wanted to compare? Charlie Bourgeois offers 3 on3 for $275 (15 sessions) which works out to over $18 per session not including gas mileage to get to the games.     3 on 3 Hockey games are designed to improve individual skills and to enhance the player's decision making skills in the process.  The games will be played on a half ice surface with the brand new rink divider boards purchased by the Town of Amherst  We will ensure there are no more than 9 players and a goalie on each team.    In simplest terms, it provides the greatest DEVELOPMENT BENEFIT. The math is easy….more ice time, more puck time, more time being involved in central-playmaking as opposed to being on the periphery. More 1 on 1 challenges offensively and defensively! More direct attempts at the goal. More passing, more receptions, more transitions, more awareness. And all of this at a faster tempo allowing players to intensify their game and improve endurance and stamina. The best hockey practices incorporate these objectives, 3 on 3 hockey brings it into a fun game format!   For goalies, way more semi-breakaways, 2 on 0’s and plays that require lateral movement and anticipation. Many more shots per minute than in a standard 5 on 5 game.     Teams will be selected with the goal of achieving balance and competitive games.   We have listened to your feedback and will ensure there are volunteers on the ice/benches and doing the time clock.   Timbits are more than welcome!!!   See you in the Spring!!   Richard Allen President of CCMHA
